The Mitchell River was the scene of weekend lilo trips in 1982, 1985 and
1986. The river here is shallow, slow flowing and warm with farm paddocks
and willow trees on the banks. Then the river leaves the farm-land and
twists among the mountains. There were lots of small rapids, and a number
of medium rapids, some swimming pools and a few sandy beaches.
